This white paper reveals how Cisco’s Threat-Centric Security Solutions for Service Providers delivers consistent security policy across physical, virtual, and cloud environments by combining the power of open and programmable networks with deep integration of Cisco and third-party security services.
Edison has followed the development and use of Cisco’s Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) over the past five years. Cisco ACI delivers an intent-based networking framework to enable agility in the datacenter. It captures higher-level business and user intent in the form of a policy and translates this intent into the network constructs necessary to dynamically provision the network, security, and infrastructure services.
When companies invest in a performance center of excellence, it can take up to three years before it starts paying dividends back. As a result, customers are happier, outages are a seemingly rare occurrence, and performance becomes prioritized as a standard policy for application development and deployment.

Cisco has recently unveiled its new intent-based networking strategy, called "The Network. Intuitive." The goal of intent-based networking is to allow greater levels of automation, security integration, and centralized manageability within a software subscription orientation. Intent-based networking is underpinned by Software-Defined Access (SDA), Cisco's automation engine built upon the company's Digital Network Architecture (DNA), which automates network segmentation, policy enforcement, and troubleshooting. Other core components of the announcement include a refresh of Cisco Catalyst switches, a new licensing model for infrastructure, and an all-in-one management console called DNA Center.
As the shift into a digital economy continues to accelerate, companies must out-innovate, outthink, and outpace their competition. Businesses must embrace change and transform to become the disruptors in their industries rather than wait to be disrupted by their competitors.
In the face of this pressure to evolve, organizations need to transform IT to reduce both the capital and operational costs of legacy IT. They must offload repeatable and time-intensive manual tasks like backup, disaster recovery, and service deployment to software and policy-driven automation.
We have conditioned patients not only to expect opioids for pain relief, but to utilize more and more of them, and the addiction is both psychological and physical. To remedy the situation, a lot of policies and practices and behaviors must change around how the health care system approaches pain. But we do not yet have the data and
analytics we need to determine what specifically to do at the patient level or the policy level. Download this whitepaper to learn more about the resources available and how we can fix this issue.

Endpoint devices continue to be one of the favorite targets for cyberattacks.
A successfully compromised laptop provides a foothold for a
threat to move laterally and infect other endpoints within the organization.
To address this critical vulnerability, security leaders must integrate
endpoint security into their broader network security architecture. A
deep connection between endpoint and network security offers key
improvements to holistic enterprise protection. It provides risk-based
visibility of all endpoint devices, establishes policy-based access controls,
enables real-time threat intelligence sharing, and automates security
responses and workflows for effective and efficient protection that
conserves time and money.

If you’ve noticed more employees accessing the corporate network using their personally owned mobile devices, you’re not alone. Many employees are boosting their productivity by using their smartphones and tablets at work.
Gone are the days of corporate IT departments dictating the types of mobile devices that could access the network. Bring your own device (BYOD) policies, while increasing employee satisfaction and productivity, are straining corporate networks.
This white paper describes the limitations of legacy networks, especially for supporting BYOD. Understanding these limitations can pave the way for a successful BYOD management policy for campus and branch networks.

Passed on May 9, 2014, the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA Act) legislation requires federal agencies to report all expenditures—grants, loans, and contracts—in order to provide American citizens and policy makers better visibility into federal spending. At first glance, new federal requirements— which are scheduled to go in effect May 2017—can seem like imposed obligations with unknown benefits to the implementers. However, wise agencies and early adopters recognize how to transform this new compliance obligation into an opportunity to advance their federal agency by becoming more data driven. The Federal Government maintains vast amounts of data, and the DATA Act establishes data standards and sharing protocols that will help agencies exploit the benefits of data mining and analytics.

All indicators are up when it comes to mobility: More devices, more users, more budget, and more applications. Business technology leaders must begin planning now for a security paradigm shift, one that will pull together disparate security policies into a single, user-centric, universal policy that can apply to whatever devices and apps employees use. This white paper from BlueCoat explores the new security challenges mobility trends are creating, and how security must change to meet them.

Public key infrastructure (PKI) is the foundation of today’s enterprise security. But most PKI lacks central visibility, consistent processes, and refresh progress validation. This leads to errors and missed system updates that result in policy violations and costly business interruptions. You can solve these issues with a PKI refresh that delivers automated key and certificate security and management.
Digital certificates have become vital to MDM/EMM, WiFi and VPN access for mobile-device-to-enterprise authentication. But most struggle to identify who has access, audit that access, and terminate access if needed. IT teams need a central certificate security platform that delivers issuance and distribution, visibility, and policy enforcement, as well as the control needed to terminate access.
