For Japan’s largest medical equipment wholesaler, Mutoh, ensuring its 300,000 products reach hospitals, clinics and health-centres on time is an imperative. Someone’s life depends on it.
Without IT that wouldn’t be possible. But Mutoh’s IT infrastructure was unable to keep pace with the demands of the business. Every time an order came in, Mutoh had to pull data from different systems across multiple servers which was time-consuming.
It needed an IT infrastructure that was fast, high-performing, reliable, stable, and flexible.
Mutoh turned to Lenovo’s hyperconverged infrastructure that helped the company achieve:
• The ability to seamlessly extract data from different systems across multiple physical servers helped Mutoh respond to customer orders as quickly as possible, thereby saving lives
• A modular hyperconverged solution allowed Mutoh to invest on a need basis, improving ROI and addressing spikes in customer demand

The quick-service restaurant industry continues to be a favorite among consumers who look to the sector for a wide variety of food served quickly and at a low price. The speed and efficiency of QSRs, which include the emergent “fast casual” restaurants, match today’s on-the-go lifestyle of consumers across all ages who often are too busy to cook at home.
That said, consumers expect their dining experience at a QSR to be comfortable with conveniences ranging from WiFi connectivity to ordering kiosks and dining area entertainment on large screens or even tableside tablets. They expect the information on menu boards to be accurate and up-to-date and their meal orders to be fulfilled quickly and accurately. Technology is a major enabler in meeting consumers’ expectations while simultaneously helping QSR locations increase operational efficiencies and quality of service.
Retail has been transformed by technology in multiple ways, from the way customers interact with retailers to how products are offered and acquired. Indeed, the entire shopping experience has been redefined and expanded to enable customers to purchase products anytime, anywhere, with any device, from any number of retailers.
Consumers’ changing shopping behaviors and their reliance on technology enables retailers to reach a wider swath of potential buyers, moving well beyond the borders of their physical store locations to new geographies and populations. That said, retailers must understand how to use technology effectively to draw in customers and entice them to purchase, as well as help them improve their operations and enable new, innovative ways to keep customers coming back.

Billing is a key moment of truth for all businesses. Every interaction with the customer ultimately gets filtered through billing. It’s an endless combination of quotes, account creation, orders, pricing, payments, settlement and subscriber management. If your company is looking to evaluate billing and subscription management vendors, this paper covers five must-ask questions your peers wished they had uncovered before signing the contract.
The tipping point has arrived. Large enterprises are planning their next-generation datacenters around flash-based storage, and for good reason. Flash arrays provide read and write performance that is orders of magnitude faster than spinning media at a total cost of ownership that is on par with disk and will soon be lower. The benefits not only include improved application performance, but more consistent performance, lower latency, reduced storage footprint, streamlined storage administration, and lower operating costs. These advantages are too beneficial to your business to ignore. That’s why flash is becoming the standard for new storage investments.

The all-flash Dell EMC SC5020 storage array handled transactional database workloads and data mart imports better than an HPE solution without sacrificing performance.
With the all-flash Dell EMC™ SC5020 storage array, your company could attend to more customer orders each minute and save time while simultaneously importing data.
Payer contracts, relationships, and a strong service portfolio give your lab a license to hunt and an opportunity to compete. But lack of EHR integration continues to be a barrier for independent labs and a differentiator for the largest lab companies.
In this webinar, you’ll discover a new, affordable, and innovative lab-to-EHR integration approach that eliminates the need for HL-7 interfaces and can help you:
• Reduce incomplete lab orders and associated labor costs
• Improve customer satisfaction and “stickiness” in your accounts
• Grow both new and existing customer revenue

Databases are often the driving force behind a company’s
mission-critical work. They power online stores, confidential
records, and customer management systems, so a solution that
sustains high levels of database work can be a big advantage as
your company grows.
We found that the Dell EMC™ VxRail™ P470F hyperconverged
system with VMware® vSAN™ could allow you to do more
database work than the HPE Hyper Converged 380 (HC 380) with
StoreVirtual VSA. The four-node Dell EMC solution processed
more orders with faster response times, so more users can fulfill
requests quicker—whether they’re placing orders in a store,
accessing databases of client info, or adding to company records.

Is there that much of a future for magnetic spinning disk? Even if manufacturers could move to 30,000 rpm disks with better areal density, the constraints in the engineering and physical capabilities of magnetic disks will still put them orders of magnitude behind flash-based systems in overall performance terms.
