Nearly nine in 10 enterprises have adopted a multi-cloud strategy, according to the latest RightScale State of the Cloud Report, and these enterprises use eight different clouds, on average. Increasingly, their cloud of choice is a public cloud.
Every public cloud, however, is different. GCP is rapidly gaining users among companies of all sizes.
Today, GCP’s customers include large global brands like Disney, eBay, HSBC, The Home Depot, Schlumberger and Verizon, and smaller ones like gaming platform Smash.gg and the Rhode Island School of Design, one of the nation’s leading arts and design institutions.
Whether GCP is a good fit for your company depends on a multitude of factors. To find out what these are and how Rackspace can help your business, download this whitepaper today.
In recent years, data has had a resurgence being labeled as one of the newer trends in education. The reality is data and schools go hand in hand. The concept of collecting and utilizing data in education dates back as early as the 1800’s. So, what’s different and why now? Is it the increased availability, a better understanding of its potential, or signs that a long-awaited paradigm shift may be coming? I would argue it’s a combination of all three.

The United States educational system is in the midst of transformational change due to widespread adoption of
technologies, including video, mobile devices, and cloud services. Given the enormous potential of these technologies to improve educational outcomes, increase access to information and collaboration, and reduce costs, schools and libraries across the nation want to do more, not less, with technology.
The need for high-throughput wireless access was especially acute at Ligonier Valley High School, where
hundreds of students, especially those in math and science classrooms located in one wing of the building, vied for
simultaneous wireless connectivity to applications such as Larson Math and Science and the ALEKS one-on-one
instructional system. Whether in the math and science wing or other areas of the school, bandwidth-intensive
streaming video, multicast within classrooms, is common.
As education evolves, so does the way we teach and learn. This report focuses on one of the newest trends, still in its nascent
stages—mobile learning. It describes the potential benefits of mobile learning, addresses the challenges and opportunities that
introducing mobile learning presents, and provides examples from school districts that have already implemented mobile learning programs so we can learn from their best practices. The report also suggests key points to consider as you develop your plans, align your goals, and make decisions regarding mobile learning in your schools.
If you’re anything like your peers, you are evaluating your education technology on an annual basis to determine if it’s time for a refresh. While most schools conduct their device refreshes during the summer because teachers, staff and students are not present, this timing can prove costly as the market is flooded with devices from schools doing the same thing.
To help school districts re-think their technology spending to focus more on total cost of ownership and residual value, as opposed to upfront cost, we’ve partnered with Diamond Assets — a technology buyback company — to explain:
• The true value and cost of iPad and Chromebook in education
• When schools receive the most trade-in value for their technology
• How to prepare for and execute technology refreshes
The school has a reputation for innovation and makes extensive use of technology to educate its students and to prepare them for the technologies which help shape the world of both work and higher education.
Lodi USD needed a long-lasting wireless infrastructure with enough headroom to support media-rich apps running on tens of thousands of Chromebooks. This case study explains why the school district turned to Ruckus Wireless.
The results explored in this market reserach paper send a strong message to school district technology leaders—you need world-class Wi-Fi to push the needle on classroom achievement.

As schools look to blended learning as a solution to personalize and positively impact student achievement, the need to train and support teachers has become blatantly clear. Thus, districts and schools have allocated scarce resources to the process of onboarding and supporting teachers as new tools and platforms are introduced. However, school leaders and teachers often fail to recognize the need to similarly onboard and support students into new digital environments, instead trusting the inherent technological competencies of the “digital native” student.
